Mobi Films from the Future: The Technology and Morality of Sci-Fi Movies (Analyzing the Future) with FREE PDF EDITION!

This book is in the Tech section, but what I found reading it was a way into technology through the movies covered, and fascinating insights about what similar technology is going on in the real world-- and most importantly how it will effect us. If you like NPR's RADIO LAB or REPLY ALL or really any thought provoking material that makes you view our world from a different perspective, you will love this book. The Author does an amazing job balancing at times complex philosophical concepts and making them accessible and relevant to us all. I also loved the way it extrapolated so far beyond the movies. Gave me a glimpse where things are headed and what people are arguing about how to shape our future. While i'm sure this book would be of interesting to academics, I'd recommend this to anyone interested in a our future. It's part love letter to the power of filmic storytelling and part catch up on what some of history's great thinkers have profetized, and finally and exploration of what we can do about our current state. Highly Recommend after reading some sections multiple times.
